This is now an 'UNCHAPERONED' event...
Please note: due to the snow forecast, the coffee event will now be considered an 'unchaperoned' event - as it is unlikely that I will be able to make it downtown in time with the expected lake effect snows coming. A goodly number of attendees are signed up on several of my groups, so you still might want to check it out if you are already downtown.
You can print up a mini-poster sign to flash at others in order to meet the other members. You can find a copy of the sign both on the group you are signed up as well as my Playful Naperville Dining Out Group. I listed it because I KNOW that there are no printing restrictions on that site. Hope you have fun and stay warm and dry!

4th Floor FOODCOURT-next to Potbelly
Come down to the food court at Nordstrom's 4th Floor on the 4th Thursday of every fourth month, grab a coffee or another beverage, perhaps some gelato, muffins, pastries, etc., or arrive a bit early and chow down on dinner foods from the other vendors. *Note: this event is being posted on multiple groups so the number of rsvps on this group may not accurately portray the actual number of people in attendance.
Nordstrom (Food Court-4th Floor) BIG ROOM Next to Potbellys 6:00 pm
520 N Michigan Ave
Chicago, IL 60611
We will have a coupon and gift card exchange during the first 20 minutes of casual chatting. Bring coupons that you don't use but have a value worth actually hauling them out at the store for someone else to use. Bring unused or balance remaining gift cards that you no longer want. (bring a laptop if you wish to confirm what that value of the remaining balance on the card is—otherwise go by the presenter's word)
Following that we will participate in 'Conversation Cafe'. What is that you ask? It's a semi-structured interplay between attendees where we open up the conversation to entice free thought and strong listening. We will assemble in small groups and there will be topics which we may or may not stay on. The purpose is to get you to THINK about all the stuff that is going on in the world and to give you a grasp on other people's viewpoints, perhaps changing yours a bit, or perhaps you changing theirs. It usually leads to some lively discussions!
If you have some topics for possible discussions at a later date, please bring them printed up and deliver to the organizer.
It's a fun way to get people to open up, allowing you to know them a bit better, and perhaps making more true friendships along the way.
(two dollars is collected to help offset the $479.88/year; $39.99/month fee that meetup charges organizers for posting events on their site)
