After freelancing on projects focused on organic fabrics and fair-trade practices and attending the FIT Sustainable Entrepreneur program, I now have my own line of handmade luxury knitwear.
I am very excited to be a part of a group of like-minded people interested in how to make design and business a more fair and environmentally-sound experience-- it's been surprising, fun, and opens up new possibilties and perspectives that are needed
I was a biology major before switching to anthropology and getting that BA after stints abroad working on educational and research projects. My hobbies led me to a fashion design degree from Parsons and it all adds up to sustainable design for me!
Hi, all! Thanks for coming out last night. We were excited to meet some new members and get updates on the various business, philanthropic, and educational pursuits of our group. Bring your mission statements on down, we are in wordsmith mode! Our summer project will be Golda's park, so stay tuned for updates on creating green urban space. Cynthia Alberto of Weaving Hand joined us to talk about her cooperative and generously offered her studio as a Meetup spot for the future, which could also be a fun group activity. Due to the 4th of July holiday and upcoming Ethical Fashion classes, we were thinking the next Meetup would be Monday, July 11th. While the SR2 space at FIT is great, we do recognize it's not easy for everyone to get in the building and appreciate your feedback on needing more clarity in our location postings here on Meetup. If anyone has other spots they think would work, definitely email, we'd love to hear ideas! Thanks and see you soon.
Hello, welcoming you to the group! It sounds like your work is very exciting. I'd love to connect with you, perhaps collaborate in the future! I'm always looking for like-minded people within the industry. You can check out my writing over here: http://lapoubelleverte.com/blog/
Hi Amy, so nice to meet you. Look forward to hanging out with you in your neighborhood. Give me a call and we'll set up something. Thanks again!
Hi Amy great to meet you today! We didn't really get a chance to chit chat much but maybe at the next meet, looking forward to it :)
