Sounds good. I've only been there once, but the pizza was good! Look forward to seeing what else they have on the menu. See you there.

I have officially changed this event to be located now at Via Downer.

I would cancel and give someone my spot if it's Milwaukee Ale House. I'm not that impressed with their food. The rest sound good?

    Looking at a few of the following and will hopefully have this all set up tomorrow; keep in mind the size of this meet up limited me to specific locations in which a restaurant would and should have no difficulty seating a group of 20 whether its as a large group or broken up;
    Milwaukee Ale House
    Via Downer
    Molly Cool's
    Devon
    Brocach

Please let me know from any of you what interests you and ill see what I can do. Thanks all!

Bummed, as this is a great restaurant. Too bad they didn't realize this would be a problem sooner. I'm open to a new place.

Thanks for your understanding, I too am very disappointed not only that people will miss put on what they had been looking forward too but also that no one at Anaba told me that this is how they would handle it. I guess on a positive note they let me know ahead of time and not on Saturday night or Sunday morning upon our arrival.

      February 6, 2013

  • Lisa M.

my two cents...let's do another place but make another meetup for Anaba with a smaller group. Oh! I want dibbies on the next Anaba adventure!! :)

    February 5, 2013

    • Gary K.

You make a great point like yourself and many others trying Anaba was what people were looking forward too and it is likely to be a brunch spot again with a smaller group size.

I am looking into changing the event location to a place that can host up to 20 and will be changing this sometime today.

One thing I would toss out is Devon. They will almost always accommodate large groups at the last moment.
You could also just take your first ten attendees.
Or just book their formal tea service rate at a set rate based upon your attendance. Their tea service with finger sandwiches is pretty impressive if not Atkins friendly. You could send the tea service finger food menu to the attendees with the price allowing them to confirm their attendance based upon the changes. Lets face it tea sandwiches aren't rocket science.
Unfortunately it is not truly representative of the restaurants ability or unique niche.

Well everyone I believe we have some bad news; The Anaba Tea room just called me to let me know that for a group of 20 people we would all need to order our food in advance (this due to the small kitchen they have) I'm not very comfortable in this situation due to drop outs and no shows that could occur whether due to last minute events, happening or weather. I'm throwing this idea out here; we can elect to move the meet up to another location, one I feel and or know will not have an issue serving 20 people at the same time, or this event may have to be cancelled. I have a few back up restaurants in mind that I feel could and would be willing to help out our situation and that are not very far from The Anaba Tea Room. Please let me know all of your thoughts, ideas and or concerns regarding this matter I hope to have this resolved by Thursday to give everyone involved the appropriate time to adjust. Thank you for your cooperation!

Sure, some other place would work. I really want to try this place. so will have to check with other friends who is willing to try with me in next 2 weeks or so. Also If anyone is interested in joining me , let me know

I am going to be looking into a few other options and will post a list of hopefully 3-4 choices and we'll see what you all think and it's likely we will move the meet up. If you do not wish to attend due to the restaurant change - no worry but please do change your RSVP online so I can give an accurate or more accurate number to the other restaurants. Thanks and more info to come very soon!

The thought of making my own brunch on Sunday isn't appealing--so if anyone can't make it, I'd be happy to take their place
