At A2C2, we believe your health is your wealth. We also believe that all of us, whether Couch Potato or Olympic Athlete, can and should improve our health. Further, we know that probably 60 to 70 of our 407 Members are in the Health and Wellness Industry, and have great knowledge services, products, programs, and health tips to share with the rest of us.
Many of you will recall our Wellness Workshop With Wine, this past September, as well as our Healthy Networking MeetUps that we have done from time to time.
This NEW Virtual MeetUp Series adds a cool dimension to the Wellness topic, whereby we will meet in Virtual Reality, share what we're doing, or trying to do to improve our health, and A2C2 Members who are in the industry will help moderate the discussion, and offer their insights to benefit everyone in the group who RSVP's to our virtual event.
This First, Kick-off event will focus on health improvement goals. You'll get the opportunity to share your goals, whether it's to lose weight, run your first 5K, run a triathalon, walk 10,000 steps a day, whatever.
Getting support and tips from others is good. Accountability to the group and from the group is also good. This will be a fun event, you can participate from wherever you are, and we will see where it leads.
The basic idea is to focus on your health each Wednesday, share what you're doing, or want to do. Pose any questions you might have in the event comments section, and see where it goes. Lets improve our health, have some fun, and celebrate our successes at our in-person MeetUps.
I look forward to seeing you there!

How fun to have professionals in the industry so willing to share their knowledge to help others! This is a great format that more members should take advantage of.

When I was cycling a lot and training for the cross country ride in 1999 I did a "study" to find out what the "best" fuel source was while out on the road. I tried and charted many things from, power bars, to chocolate chip cookies to gue - that sugar syrup stuff in a packet, and found (for me) fig newtons gave you the most bang for your buck! Although gue was an amazing quick energy source - when your muscle might be feeling completely spent trying to get up a hill at mile 80, you ingest that stuff and it was like rocket fuel! But short lasting...

Good Morning! Thanks for getting the conversation started. I'm not fully on track with my goals (I've made some pretty aggressive ones). My trouble continues to be consistency. I did complete my first 5K of the year this past Sunday, and I'm still a bit sore. I did not train for it as I had planned, but was still able to beat my time from the last 5K I did. I love doing the 5K's, and find that having that timing chip in the bib holds me accountable. I haven't done anything since Sunday, using my soreness as an excuse. I've been doing 1 or 2 Yoga classes per week, and my goal is 3 to 4 classes. I'm planning to go today at Noon.
Nutrition-wise, I've (re)started a food log on the App LoseIt. Its great, and much like the timing chip, when it's written, I'm more likely to watch it, and less likely to eat that big bowl of chocolate Ice Cream, when I know I have to put it in the log, and blow up my eating plan for the day.

Ok.. so my 3 ways to Make time for Exercise 1. Schedule to run or do a Fitness event for charity(Brian you got game on this)..Then Schedule your training times with those supporting your cause. 2. Workout with your kids ..Ahhhh it gets fun with twins they cheer you on "Come on Daddy Show me more 3. Make exercise part of your business plan . part of your day just like a phone call to a client or meeting .. Forbes, Inc. Wire Wall street has top 10 list for entrepreneurs and on that list is Exercise /Take care of your health ....So if taking care of your health for you or your family is not gonna move you then maybe tie in to the profitability of your business...more productivity , more focus, more confidence .. more efficiency... allows you to spend more time with family and friends and actually feel energized .it all comes down to more time and fun with family :). there you have it my Magic 3 for making time for exercise .

I am not a nutritionist, but have studied extensively - very interested in the concept of "food as medicine" would love to hear any questions or discussion about individual food goals, diet questions etc...

Generally that is 1 cup apple juice or 1 apple, a handful or two of fresh spinach, and 1 banana.

My favorite smoothie in summer is kale, watermelon and garlic! May Need vita mix or high power blender to sufficiently liquefy the kale! Watermelon has to be sweet!

    Good morning everyone,
Wondering how everyone is doing with their fitness goals? And even simpler perhaps - was there an equal amount of movement and rest in your days last week?

I'm learning to not feel guilty about the rest part. ;)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
