The teal track and trail 5K run intends to raise money to help advance the fight against ovarian cancer. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Michigan Ovarian cancer alliance (www.MIOCA.org). Thousands of women die every year and many more continue to fight like a girl against this deadly disease. While there are dependable tests for other types of cancers, Ovarian cancer does not have a reliable pap smear or other tests to diagnose the disease early. Too many precious women are diagnosed at a very late stage thereby decreasing their survival chances. The Ovarian cancer national alliance intends to change that and MIOCA specific to the great state of MI promotes saving women’s lives through the early detection of ovarian cancer and improved treatment outcomes. In addition to community outreach and education, MIOCA provides advocacy, resources and support throughout Michigan.
Help support this great cause by registering to run the 5K. More details at the event website below...(http://tealtrackandtrail.weebly.com/)
