African Americans for Humanism (AAH DC) Monthly Meeting

"The need for critical thinking skills and a humanistic outlook in our world is great. This is no less true in the Black community than in others." African Americans for Humanism

The May 2012 African Americans for Humanism meeting will not be held because the Women in Secularism Conference is being held from May 18 - 20, 2012 at the Crystal City Marriott at Reagan National. This three day conference, sponsored by the Center for Inquiry, will examine the relationships between secularism and women's issues. All of the speakers are women and the list read like a who's who of accomplished authors, bloggers, activists, educators and scientists. Among the speakers are CFI-DC's Executive Director, Melody Hensley and Debbie Goddard, Director of CFI on Campus and African Americans for Humanism. For more information or to register go to

An AAH-DC meeting is planned for June.  If you have ideas or suggestons for speakers, topics or events for future meetings please contact me or post them on this site.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
