Introduction

So happy that I found this great welcoming group.

What Lucette Smoes is saying about this Meetup Group

The formation of this group is a wonderful idea. We can attend meetings whenever it is convenient for us. Each meeting brings new participants and new information. II am learning a lot. Thanks Ernest.

  • Not to be used for discussion...which means it will go back to what it was being used for before...nothing. What a bunch of tools.

  • Thanks for the comment. Cafe Inquiry seems to be a bad scene for actual discussion backed by research. I thought it best to back off before they became punitive and labeled me a "misogynist" (read: shut up) for suggesting parity in violence rates, backed by research, that contradicts the claims made at the meeting

  • I'm not a fan of either UU or Ethical Culture, but I cited them examples of the churchified institutions that create some kind of community & engage in either political causes or social service or charitable work. Another example would be Humanistic Judaism. Historically, the church format was the most successful way of creating a community or institution for freethinkers-- the Ethical Culturalists & Unitarianists were among the first of the liberal--religiously & politically--of these.

  • Hi. You said you'd be interested in a Sam Singleton Atheist Evangelist Show. Can you suggest a venue? I am looking for a pub or restaurant that has a private room that seats about 50, or something similar. Busboys is too expensive. Thanks!

  • Hi Lucette! Thanks for your message. I hope to see you there tomorrow night.

    Cheers,
    Ben
