Monster of the Week Pickup Game

My last Monster of the Week meetup saw a mysterious "federal" agent, a whacko conspiracy theorist, an occult studies expert, and a creepy Japanese girl with psychic powers overcome a vampire stalking a Walmart during Black Friday.

But now, there's another monster on the loose. Who's going to join me at George Mason Regional Library on March 17th to come get 'em? ANYONE is welcome to join, whether you're new to storytelling games or an old pro. Just bring a snack to share with the group and you're good to go! You might also need a ride, if you don't have a car, since the library is not near a metro station (it does, however, have a bus-stop nearby).

Looks like Mike is running late on the Metro, and since I am picking him up, I am running late as well. Will let you all know when I have him!

I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to make it out to Annandale on Sunday. Are others coming that haven't RSVP'd?

Hey I'll pick you up at the Metro at about 12:30. Work for you?

Sounds like a cool game, but I got wait-listed (darn). Maybe next time!

So what is this event all about?

Monster of the Week is a storytelling game...think Dungeons & Dragons but more story and less rules. In this particular storytelling game, you play a hunter; someone who knows that the world is full of monsters, hiding in the shadows, pursuing their dark agendas, and it's up to you (and your friends) to stop them. This Sunday will be my fourth Meetup playing this or a game like it (Dungeon World) and it's been a blast everytime! I encourage you to come.

Really wanted to come to this, but just found out my parents are unexpectedly going to be in town that day. Maybe next time!

That is super cool! What does it take to gt the library to agree to let us use the space?

    March 13, 2013

    • Ed G.

I've already got the space reserved...all it takes is going to their website and booking it!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
