Eurogames/other strategy board games

This is a long-standing games group that welcomes new attenders. We play lots of Euro games and other strategy-based board games, such as Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, Empire Builder, Puerto Rico, Princes of Florence, a couple of "train games," and also occasionally word games. Bring any games you would like to play/learn/try; we decide as we go along what to play and usually break into smaller groups. People are not fiercely competitive, will teach you games, and will even help you out during play if you want.
We meet every 3rd Saturday, at private homes in Springfield, Fairfax, and the Franconia area (alternates depending on the month). Snacks are always welcome but are not required. We usually order pizza around 6:00 or have other foods, depending on the location.

One day I'll join you. It worked out badly this time because I've just begun volunteer training with Literacy Council of NoVA

Most of the people who go to these 3rd Saturday parties do not announce their plans on this Meetup site. The group is likely to me larger than this page would lead you to expect.
Mike and I may not arrive until mid-afternoon.

I know - it's been working out OK, though - we've gotten between 0-2 from it each time.

Good point, though - from now on I'll optimistically put a cap of maybe 10.

That's fine - we'll plan to play something that will end around that time.

Friday I agreed a divorce mediation session Saturday afternoon, so it looks as if I will miss all the games.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
