Hello again, could you please take a few minutes to fill out this survey on your experience at Steampunk Spectacular? And suggest ways to make next years event better, thanks https://docs.google.com/forms/d/...

  • Christina Rhoderick

Thank you everyone for coming, your presence helped make the atmosphere more steampunky! We are already planning next year's event and it will be bigger and better with more activities for everyone.

    • Dave D

Here's an idea for next year. I bet the ABQ Steampunk Society could host a Tea Dueling competition next year. Leah, would you be game?

      September 30

  • Alex

This was really awesome! Thank you so much to everyone who attended! If you attended and we didn't get a chance to say Hi, I'm really sorry!

Another congrats to Tucker who won the costume contest "by a landslide"!

  • Brigitte

I had a great time hanging with my fellow steampunks!! Hopefully next year our group can be a little more involved in the event.

Great fun, real nice turn-out. Wishing there was more to do other than watch Belly Dancers during the middle of the day, until Clan Tynker. I went shopping in the town so it all worked out.

    Hey, Guys!

We're still planning on going, but as of 8 AM Saturday, we are going to need more start-up time to get out of the house. Don't wait for us at Einsteins. We'll find you at the Festival later this afternoon.

    September 28

    • Brigitte

Yay! Glad you can make it and see you there!!

I just was on the Mineshaft Tavern page folks and they are advertising the cost of your event as $20. entry fee. Just thought you should know because it looks like a $10. fee at the door. It might keep some people from going.

    September 27

    • Geneva Schult

That is not the event (which is not "ours"). The BURLESQUE SHOW is at 8pm in the evening. the $20 price you saw was for "Steampunk Trunk Show" in the theater. I am assuming it is for the burlesque show. The entire day event is a $10 event. GO TO this URL for event information: http://laborofloveent...

Hey guys just a quick re-cap:
Alex and Dave have both offered to take people up to Madrid. Alex has 4 spots and Dave has 2 (possibly 3?) spots in their vehicles. Based on this thread 4 people need rides: John, Zoe, GiGI +1. If anybody else needs a ride please speak up! I just want to avoid 10 people showing up needing a ride, when there are only 6 spots.
For those driving who would like to caravan as a group, be at Einsteins prepared to pull out of the parking lot at 11 am.

Tickets cost $10 at the door, vendors are cash only, there is no cell reception and you might want to bring a folding lawn chair and something warm for the evening.

This is going to be fun!! I am looking forward to hanging out with my fellow steampunk geeks!

I need a ride. My car needs work and I don't trust it to drive as far as Madrid.

      September 27

  • Duncan

I was at the website tonight (10:15 PM) and the page is down. The domain is up, and there is the same official poster on the page that states $10.00 at the door. I'm hoping we'll make it. I'm still fighting a cold and Martha's feet are giving her trouble. We are still planning to meet at Einstein's.

My stomach bug is back with a vengeance. I think I'm going to have to skip this one.

  • Dave D

It looks like everyone is going up separately to Madrid. If anyone would like to carpool, leave a message here.

It's actually the Einsteins on Central and Tramway! From UNM take an Eastbound bus on Central.

      September 16

    • John Spann

I can make it there, and would appreciate a ride.

I went to Madrid yesterday to scope things out and I am happy to report the Engine House Theater has been cleaned up and is ready for the show! The ground around the theater is a little rough due to the run off, please wear durable comfy shoes. It will be cooler in the evening, plan accordingly. Seating outside the theater is limited; bring chairs and tables to ensure a place to sit during the day. Dogs are allowed during the day as long as they are leashed and well behaved.

Tickets are good for ALL day! Teens under 18 can attend the night show, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

There is NO cell phone service in Madrid. Bring cash or checks for the vendors, they may not accept credit cards (Mine Shaft can accept cards for food and drink).

There is significant damage to the property and the museum. LoLE is having a fundraiser and silent auction to help with the cleanup of the property. If you would like to donate something for the silent auction, bring it with you on Sat.

I do have a back up plan but let's hope the show can go on!!! Stay tuned. In case you weren't aware of the floods, here's the scoop. Our prayers and thoughts are with the families and businesses affected by the flood. http://www.krqe.com/news/local/...

Greetings! I am hosting the Steampunk Spectacular and am really excited that some of you plan to attend. No need to rush and buy tickets, there is plenty of room. Tickets are $10 at the door, so it is cheaper to buy them ahead of time. There will be entertainment all day, Steampunk merchants, a costume contest and more. Here's the link to the website for more details. http://laborofloveent.com If you want to avoid the ticket price, I am looking for volunteers to help throughout the day, message me for details. Hope to see you there.

Do we have to buy tickets now? Do they sell out quickly? I'm always concerned about buying a month in advance.

    August 15

    • Brigitte

Nope, I just believe they are cheaper online than at the door.
