Event-- Wild Wild West Con III

"Wild Wild West Steampunk Convention III is America’s first and only Steampunk convention and festival that takes place in a western-themed town and amusement park. After incredibly successful events in 2011 and 2013, we’re very excited to be making WWWC3 larger and more amazing than ever before!

Our event takes place within Old Tucson, the famous movie studio and amusement park built in 1939 and featured in over a hundred movies and TV shows. For this weekend only, Old Tucson is transformed into the world’s only Western-style Steampunk Theme Park!

Concerts, street performers, special events, panels, workshops, rides, games, and much more are here for your enjoyment!
Whose side will you fight for, Land or Sea?

Our town, just recovered from its time travelling last March, has a new dilemma. The mad scientist’s newest machine has terraformed the earth near Tucson creating an ocean front and speeding up the evolution of the ocean creatures!

The denizens of the deep are rising up to threaten the land-dwelling Steampunks. The air pirates have become the privateers of the skies and the sailing ships upon the sea are in constant danger.

This year’s theme will enhance the convention with stories and experiences, provide options for fun costuming and interaction and will flavor many of our special events! Arrr!"

We are planning on attending this event as a group this year. Hotel and Convention registration can be found on the wild wild west con's site: http://wwwc3.com/

Remember - Daylight Savings Time starts on Sunday, March 9th, but Arizona doesn't observe it.
So, now New Mexico and Arizona are on the same time zone. But when we leave the con and drive home, you will have to set your clocks ahead one hour when you drive across the NM border.

    Hi Teresa,
Wild Wild West Con is a convention being held at Old Tucson Studios. It's a great old west movie stage and sets up a perfect background for a western steampunk convention. There are panels held during the day that cover a multitude of topics. Usually there are costuming ones, Role Playing, Make and Take workshops and usually historic practices tied into steampunk. Also there is usually a steampunk 101 panel. At night there are concerts and this year there will be a steampunk ball. The VIP ticket will allow you access to all of those events plus some extra perks like tea dueling, absinthe tasting and front of line for concerts. I went last year and had the VIP ticket and loved it. If you buy the cheaper ticket, you have to pay for the make and take workshops, and concerts ect... If you plan to attend everything, the VIP is highly recommended. If you just want to do the panels during the day, the Maverick is your best option.

Hotel reservations are made through the wild west con website. A few of us have rooms at the main hotel, but that hotel ran out of spots a couple months ago. Their website www.wwwc3.com will have more info on the other hotels available. Please note that the hotels are not within walking distance of the convention, so you will need transportation from your hotel to Old Tucson Studios. As far as carpooling/caravan, we haven't really worked those details out yet. I plan to leave on Thursday morning and will be returning Monday morning. My car is full due to the amount of costumes/props and stuff to entertain a 3 year old! I would love to drive up with others in a caravan if possible.
