JJ 101 is a VERY FINE establishment, but it's a small place and their largest table seats 8. I have reserved the communal table for Friday 1/10/13 at 6pm for 8 people.
I am requesting an up front fee for this event: a $20 reservation deposit. $18 will be applied to your dinner ticket, and $2 to organizer & processing. JJ will split the ticket to individuals but they prefer not to. They asked that, if possible, we coordinate to accept a single bill amongst ourselves. So I am sticking to the $20 reservation deposit. Since the payment wasn't set up when most members RSVP'ed, I've put a support ticket into meetup HQ to ask how to facilitate this (after the fact) payment - still no reply on that. I see that several members have come back on line and paid their fee. So it's possible!
Where does the $20 go? Your $20 includes $18 towards your meal and tip, plus a Meetup organizer fee of $2 each. If you plan to spend more than about $15 (If you drink anything but water, or like to order large, that is super likely...) PLEASE BRING EXTRA CASH to make paying the combined bill easier. If you spend less than $15 you can request a refund at the time - or the difference will be given to the server as a tip. (your couple extra dollars can make the restaurant happy to have us again...:-)
If you cannot attend: You should let me know (on the site AND directly to my cell phone at[masked], voice or text) at least 48 hours in advance, then your $18 is refundable. The $2 may be kept as processing costs (to cover PayPal fees).
I appreciate everyone who has hung in there on this event despite my recent transition as group organizer and all the confusion. I hope we have a splendid dinner!!!
