Saturday Core Standards Seminar with Jian-Hua (Jane) Liang

We are pleased to announce our 11th Core Standards Seminar, which will be entitled: 

Smarter Balanced Mathematics Assessment and will be presented by Dr. Liang

Overview

This session will provide information about the Smarter Balanced assessment in mathematics. Q&A will start at 11:30 at the latest, so there will be at least 30 minutes for questions. A free lunch for administrators will follow; send names and e-mails of administrators who want to receive an Evite to [masked].

·  Smarter Balanced assessment technology: computer-based testing, computer-adaptive testing

·  Math content specifications: claims, targets

Biography of Presenter

Jian-Hua (Jane) Liang, Ed.D. is a mathematics consultant for the California Department of Education (CDE). She was responsible for contract oversight for the development and administration of the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) tests in mathematics between 2005 and 2013. Currently, she serves as a member of the mathematics review panel for the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium. She is also a member of the California Leadership Team for the Smarter Balanced Digital Library. Prior to joining the CDE, Dr. Liang was a math teacher and an administrator for many years. Her first teaching assignment in the United States was at Abraham Lincoln High School in the San Francisco Unified School District in 1986. 

All educators are welcome to attend FREE. This event will be in the Auditorium. Those attending will be admitted FREE to the Lawrence Hall of Science.

Parking is ample—though it costs $1 per hour. The machines take credit cards. You may no longer pay at the front desk. Carpooling is recommended.
