ACE (@AgileEx): Reach for the Stars with Kanban + Agile coach Dan Brown

To celebrate our new venue we have a slightly different format. In addition to our usual open space session we have a talk from Kanban and Agile Coach Dan Brown (@KanbanDan).

Reach for the Stars

"Explore what the stars can teach us about Lean Kanban. Learn how we move beyond Estimation and yet use very simple maths to give our stakeholders real predictability about our work. Learn how NASA applied principles and practices we now use in Kanban and Agile back in the 1960s to get man onto the moon, and what we can learn from NASA."

NEW VENUE!

3 minutes walk from Mornington Crescent tube, Thank you to The Victoria for giving us a new home.

The Coaching Exchange is a really great place to get those burning questions off your chest and make new friends.

So we are pleased to announce the next Agile Coaching Exchange is on Wednesday April 24th and will be facilitated by Ben Cooke.

These exchanges are about:
- Connecting people so that they can collaborate and work together in the future
- Providing a place for newer coaches to seek support
- Exchanging coaching skills and experiences
- Develop new concepts collaboratively that we can use when coaching
- Develop ideas that will support the discipline of coaching
- Having fun, sharing and collaboration

The target audience is you, peers that you work with or have worked with, ScrumMasters, anybody with potential to be coaches, good ScrumMasters. Please feel free to bring others along, especially people from your current workplace/engagement that could benefit from this kind of sharing event.

We look forward to seeing you :-)

Obliviously I can say it was great meet up. Everything was going the way by discussion each to other. Still waiting to get another meet up event next time as I was not attended the program. I had a job interview with http://www.orthoticshop.com/ that’s why I was unable to come.

    Great presentation Dan.

I see similarities between validated learning and Christensen's disruptive innovation thinking. In the delivery of a product to market that initially offers a lower performance point that the majority of market demands you learn by delivering in the lower end and improve the product to the level demanded by the majority.

Great meetup, I've already put some of it into practice with a day of hard not-selling :-)

Thankyou for the facilitation, the pizza, and the music...

I mentioned(not for the first time at ACE) the excellent Tribal Leadership book by Dave Logan. It is available as a free Audio Book from Zappos.com(http://about.zappos.com/tribal). If you aren't aware of Zappos they seem to have a unique but extremely successful view on how to run a business. Founder Tony Hsieh has written about it his book Delivering Happiness(http://amzn.to/14RwOAy)

That was a great meet up. The new venue is spacious, comfortable and having a private room meant we could all hear each other. The pizzas were all super tasty. Most importantly it was an excellent opportunity to talk to other agile coaches and learn from each other. I walked away with lots of good information and will definitely be back.
