Stock the Pantry at the LA Food Bank!

Fellow Atheists, in the season of overeating, it seemed appropriate to do the LA Food Bank again!

L.A. Regional FoodBank provides food support to numerous community agencies serving Los Angeles, ranging from large homeless shelters that feed hundreds of people a day to small daycare programs. It is the second largest foodbank operating in the United States.

Volunteer Project: Come on down with fellow atheists -- and some other L.A. Works volunteers -- to sort, stack and shelve valuable food to distribute to the hungry throughout Los Angeles. Make someone's day, or dinner!

Since we're such a new group, I've been conservative and tried to "reserve" 6 spots.  If we get better response, I'll try and get more volunteer spots. (So if you RSVP "yes," please plan on coming!)  It was really fun last time!

Hours are 9AM -- 12 noon.

Brian

If anyone wants to sign the waiver form in advance and bring it with them, email me and I will send you a copy.

Also I am age 53, 5-9, about 175, bald, glasses, graying goatee, smile. Not sure what t-shirt I'll be wearing. Maybe a baseball cap. Come say hi!

Message from Mary, our LA Works group leader. See you tomorrow!

    Hey all,
Please wear comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes. All volunteers must sign a food bank liability waiver. These can be printed out online from the LA Works website and brought with you or they have them there. Any volunteer under 18 needs this waiver as well an LA Works minor release agreement both signed by their parent or guardian. The LA Works minor release agreement can be printed out online and must be brought with you. Please be there by 8:45am to allow time for everyone to get signed in. When you arrive please go to the LA Works table to sign the LA Works and Food Bank attendance forms. It’s very important that you sign the LA Works attendance form, as that is the only way you and LA Works can get credit for your attendance. Do not sign in on the “Individuals” attendance form.
