Flat as a pancake 60 miler to Davis

We'll leave William Pond Park and head down the bike trail to Old Sacramento, across the Tower Bridge and through West Sacramento, passing historical Raley Field and numerous motels.

Route Map

As a group, we'll cross the long and "noisy" causeway into the thriving metropolis of Davis.  We will figure out a place for lunch. Then after pizza we ride back.

This is a very flat 60 mile ride.  We can take it easy on the speed and stay together as a group as much as we can.  We will regroup as we go.

Do's: Helmet, tire tube, air, patch kit etc.....bring some type of nourishment for the ride.  You will probably need about 200 calories an hour, plan on 5 hours for this ride.  Good snacks are peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, Fig Newton cookies, Clif bars, etc.

Downtown Davis has a great sandwich and bagel place!

Gel's and Blocks are good for quick burst's, but not for sustained long ride energy.

There will be water fountains on the way, so bring a water bottle or two.  Saturday is expected to be close to 80 degrees in the afternoon.

Let me know if you have any questions.

"You can do this!"  Really!
