Earth Day at the Buddhist Temple

The Chung Mei Buddhist Temple is hosting activities for Earth Day from 10:30 AM - Noon, followed by a vegetarian lunch. You must bring your own earth friendly plate, bowl and utensils.

Carpooling may be arranged, but please be respectful of the driver and their vehicle and chip in for gas money as well.  We will meet at the Lowe's at I-10 and Bunker Hill at 10:30 AM Sharp, to be at the temple by 11 AM.

Please bring your own re-useable plate, bowl, and utensils for lunch, if you'd like to partake (It is Earth Day after all!)  Otherwise you won't be able to eat, as they have no servingware.

RSVPs for the event will close April 13th, as the Temple has asked for a headcount so they can prepare enough food.

For this event, the No Show Policy will go into effect if you cancel your RSVP after April 13th without identifying a replacement.

May, My apologies. We stayed at Lowes until 10:40 waiting for you. It is possible that you were there on time and couldn't find us. I gave my phone number to those that responded. I didn't think to give it to you since you responded this morning. Im glad you eventually made it.

Consider visiting/meeting up on May 11th for Mother's Day and Buddha's Birthday celebration. They will have a lot of food vendors (not free) from 12-3 p.m. and music/dance as well.

I'.m not sure how things will play out exactly, but there is a tea room (yummy tea) and if anyone is interested in sharing a pot, cash will be needed.

Amilee, y This is not the Hindu temple that is put together without nails. This is a modest Buddhist temple. Maybe we can do the Hindu temple another time.

We can meet as a group in the reading area right outside the tea room around 11am.
The temple is a small building. Once you go inside walk to the left and you can see the library/reading room.

    1 · April 14, 2014

We need a head count for the Buddhist Temple, so they make enough food. Please respond via email, text, or leave a comment here that you plan on attending by Monday 5 PM. If I don't hear back from you, I will mark you as not attending, and we will not ask the Temple to include you in the lunch. If you want to attend but not partake in lunch or if you want to carpool, please let me know as well.

Remember you have to bring your own plate, bowl, utensils, etc, if you plan on eating!

    April 14, 2014

    • Haley

Count me in :-) , for car pool too. Thanks. Haley

Just a reminder that RSVPs will close this Sunday! I will send an email requesting that you respond confirming your attendance and whether you will meet us at the Temple or at the carpool spot. IF YOU DO NOT CONFIRM, we will not include you in the attendee list.

Can I drive to the temple directly? Is there parking allowed at the temple?

    March 30, 2014

I shall meet you at Lowes at 10:30. The car pool leaves at 10:30 right? so we could be there a few minutes early to find one another.

Please rsvp even if you drive directly to the temple. The temple has asked for rsvps from us. It is not an open event.
