At some point or another, in the course of doing design work we all find ourselves needing to use stock photography. It's certainly easier to buy a photo or piece of art that fits the bill rather than having to stage and shoot the photo yourself, but sometimes the terms of the license and the cost are too prohibitive. So what options are out there?
We'll look at the usual big sites like iStockPhoto and Shutterstock, plus the completely free ones like StockXchng. We'll also compare the licenses they offer for commercial and web printing usage. And we'll go over the pitfalls of searching the web in general for imagery you can use.
As always, please consider purchasing a snack or beverage, and let the people at the counter know you're with our meetup, so they can apply your purchase towards the room rental rate.
