Position Title: Web Developer
Division: CIO
Department: Corporate Applications
Reports To: Manager, Corporate Applications

Summary of Responsibilities

The Web Developer in the Corporate Applications Team will assist in the design, implementation and management of websites. This position encompasses technology and processes across all facets of this corporation, including Power System Operations, Wholesale and Retail Market Operations, Market Monitoring and Corporate Services. The Web Developer will take direction from the Website Content Coordinator (the representative of website leadership and business users) and will work with the Core Web Team to ensure cohesive integration of the user experience across applications.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:
1. Maintaining company websites, primarily the main 3-4 corporate websites, and implementing approved website and software changes and upgrades
2. Assisting with user support and maintaining user groups
3. Participating in projects as key contributor

4. Contributing to discussions regarding the evolution of company’s Web presence and the use of the content management system
Essential Job Functions
• Developing and maintaining websites
• Implementing website changes for assigned projects
• Researching new methods for implementing proposed changes to websites
• Documenting website/content management system requirements for website maintenance and upgrade efforts
• Collaborating with key groups, including architects and internal end-users, in the company on best use of content management system to ensure quality, timely project delivery
• Assisting in developing a library of reusable, scalable user-interface elements, concepts, interaction controls and other objects to ensure consistency
• Assisting in developing metrics to measure the value and effectiveness of websites to the organization and its systems
• Acting as a key member of the Core Web Team in defining the overall technical development goals
• Maintaining technical proficiency in the following key technical areas: XHTML, CSS, HTML, CVS, Visio, Dreamweaver, JavaScript, Fireworks and Serena’s Collage
Education and Experience Requirements
• B.S./B.A. in Computer Science, Industrial Design, Human Factors Engineering or 4 year degree in like study with 3 years of experience; or 9 years of equivalent experience.
• 3+ years experience working in technical development organizations
• Grasp of user-centered design, usability principles and heuristics
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong interpersonal skills
• 1+ years experience with XML, XSL, XSLT, XSD, DTD, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTML preferred
• 1+ years experience with website content management system such as Vignette, Serena or similar preferred
• 1+ years experience with a Revision Control System (i.e., CVS, VSS) preferred
• Familiarity in database development (prefer Oracle) and database-driven websites
• Energy industry experience (financial or market systems background) a plus
