My name is Jessica Barr and I am currently President of the Psi Beta & Psychology Club at Saddleback College. I consider myself to have a type of "mind" cancer, where the idea of suicide is with me every day. Every day, though, is a painful gift.
The first time I heard of AFSP was at the American Psychology Association Conference in Washington, D.C. this last August. I had hoped to ask AFSP to do a Out of the Darkness Walk on campus but it has now turned into a whole week of Mental Health Awareness and our walk has become both a symbolic gesture and later will be a vigil for all mental health.
Perhaps. I'm quite busy with the Psychology Club on campus, but I know myself and other club members would be interested if it works within our school and work schedules.
