Dungeon World

Combining high-action dungeon crawling with cutting-edge rules, Dungeon World is a roleplaying game of fantasy adventure. You and your friends will explore a land of magic and danger in the roles of adventurers searching for fame, gold, and glory.

Dungeon World’s rules are easy to learn and always drive the action forward in unexpected ways.  A missed roll is never a dead end—failure introduces new complexities and complications.  Life as an adventurer is hard and dangerous but it’s never boring! No knowledge of the system is required and it's ideal for newcomers.

This game runs biweekly on tuesdays.

Because of the time slot and frequency of the games, these sessions won't be long, typically wrapping up around 9PM, but will be intense and great for smaller groups.

Bring 2D6, D4,D8,D10 and D12.

Characters are generated in the group setting together. Everything comes from a picklist.

There is only one of each class in play at one time. I'll be bringing the following...and keep in mind that these might not work the same way as their D&D equivalents : Barbarian,Bard,Cleric,Druid,Fighter,Paladin,Ranger,Wizard,Thief,Shaman,Templar,Priest,Mage (various kinds),Artificer,Dashing Hero,Warlock,Namer,Fae (Seelie or Unseelie),Initiate,Summoner and the Witch.

We currently have a Shaman,Paladin,Templar and Cleric.

Such is the fate of all heretics. All those who oppose His faithful shall have the fate of the Betrayer.

This time we discover that there were two stowaways in the ship......a bard,a ranger and his companion. We also learn more about where we landed....

I really like the characters you already have,by the way. Just looking forward to seeing the new characters too,and what kind of trouble you'll get into.

And one more thing...always remember that although I now have a campaign outline, a lot of this is shaped by who you choose to play, and what you choose to do.

Also, if anyone wants to switch to a new character, this would be a good time (other than when the character is killed of course),as we're leveraging the "other people on the boat" plot device. And it's about to get interesting.

The two new players should definitely take some kind of "religious" characters just to maintain the theme we started.

      is there a monk class?

      March 28, 2014

Not specifically, though different sides of that class have equivalents. The Priest covers the religious side, working with people etc. There's also the Initiate which is essentially the Eastern martial artist monk.

Next time can we sit out on the main floor?

We might be able to find a table that affords a little more elbow room.
