On ongoing adventure in 2E D&D. New players are welcome to join in. Character creation is not difficult, and new players can be worked into the story quickly. The adventure so far… The Adventuring Dead Company has had it’s hands full being hired to react to the return of a villian known as the Son of Dark. The Son of Dark was a priest of the Death God Hades, whom ruled the land 30 years ago, but was slain by the land’s current ruler, Lord Karsis. However, the Son appears to be back from the dead, or perhaps undead is a better description, and the Son clearly plans on revenge. The Adventuring Dead Company has been sent off from emergency to emergency, defeating dark priests and hordes of undead, tripping up the plans of the Son of Dark. Recently, they were given a prophetic message by a priestess of Apollo, just before she was consumed by dark spirits from the underworld. That prophecy lead the group to an ancient magic item, which none had been able to use. The prophecy contained the key, and the item transported the group to an ancient pyramid, which supposedly houses an ancient artifact that will give those whom oppose the Son an edge. The group is now exploring that ancient structure, and has found itself trapped in the lower levels of the ancient place, the halls filled with toxic gas. So far they have faced down and defeated a vampire released from a crypt they explored, and navigated a few traps. This episode they will continue to seek their way out of the tomb, and to finding the promised treasure at it’s end. If they succeed, they will have finally taken the fight to the Son of Dark, rather than just responding to him.
