Dungeon World: Screams in the Darkness

Dungeon World is a fantasy game like Pathfinder or D&D, except it uses the Apocalypse World system. The rules are simple and the system focuses on the consequences of the actions of the player characters. This results in a very dynamic campaign with excellent role-playing potential. If you like fantasy games, but would like a bit more role-play in the mix, this could be the game for you.

The campaign will be once a month, fourth Saturdays at noon, at Gigabytes. Please stop by this thread in the discussion area to read more and get involved now.

I enjoyed it. The bonds add an interesting spin. First time I've died in the first session.

I agree! The bonds are an awesome way to create drama in addition to the stuff that's happening during the dungeon delve.

A few too many for the best pace, but a good clip for that count

Agreed... If we get that large a group again might be best to split into two groups... Not that I didnt have a great time it's just we had too many to flow smoothly.. Michael did a great job given the circumstances.

Great adventure and nail-biting cliffhanger. Loving it.

This was just an awesome session. I'm impressed by how much of the story we managed to cover considering the large group.
I'm looking forward to resolving some of Titus' bonds, as well as create new bonds. ;)
Looking forward to seeing all of you next session.

How crucial is it for players to make every game?

Hey Drew... come if you can, we'll make it work.

I was reading through the material and saw a entry for an automaton. thought that would be interesting to play. what do you think?

yeah that's an unofficial guide book not the actual playbook. it's referring to a compendium class idea. they are the same as prestige classes, and i wasn't planning on using those at first.

The website for the campaign will be here: http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/dungeon_world_1

After we create characters, I'll turn over control of the character sheet on Obsidian Portal to you.

How late do you expect the game to run? I would love to join in, but have something to attend later in the evening.

I want to play a Wizard! (More info on the DW thread!)

I've heard good things about Dungeon World, so this would be a nice time to actually play it. What is the basic idea(s) for the campaign setting?

    1 · December 17, 2012

    • Michael B.

Michael - Once a month, fourth Saturday. Imani, the campaign and the adventures in it all basically come from the discussion during the first session. A lot of things come from choices players make during character creation, and the questions we'll ask about your character.

Please check out the thread in the discussion area for more information.

Perhaps? I don't know when one of my long time campaigns will go on, but I'd love to if they don't overlap. How often are you planning on running this?
