I would like to find new games to play and have had some more recent experience with the D20 system. I played first edtion AD&D simply becuase I have all the books and many modules from then. I enjoyed playing characters as well as Dm'ing. I am working on my first novel and enjoy telling a good story so I would like to start playing again and then work back up to being a DM once the skills have been dusted off and I learn the newer rules.
My wife and I live on the Cobb side of Roswell and we would both like to play. We are a couple forged in the fires of geekery so travelling to enjoy the company of others and a good game is not really a problem.
Weekends mostly. Friday nights after 7pm so we can get home from work and get ready. Satuday is open and Sunday could be fun if it was earlier in the day (before 4pm).
I learned to play AD&D in 1981 or so when I was in the Boy Scouts. Our troop would stay after Thursday night meetings and play. The Priest at our school (troop was hosted at a Catholic school in Chicago) heard that D&D was the Devil's tool so he was going to ban it until we invited him to try out a game. After that our Healer was a real priest! How can gaming compare to that? I don't know but I am willing to see for myself.
I would like to start off and be a player but work my way back into being the DM/GM. RPG games like D&D are all about the story and I pride myself with being able to tell a good one and lead people down moonlit alleys to entreat their endarkened foes into BATTLE!!!
I am an old school gamer in that I started playing D&D in the 80's and bought stuff from Gary Gadyx at the D&D Store in Lake Geneva, WI. I have spent many years travelling the world working in a variety of fields and love to tell a good story.
