AWESOME open mic at the Metro tonight! The place was packed. We had so many players that we had to shorten sets from 3 songs to 2 each. Ed and Joshua Sparks our feature act, had everyone singing along to Beatles, James Taylor, and John Prine songs. Thanks to everyone for coming out, and thanks Phil Stoecker for helping me with all the gear. Will post the pics tomorrow.

Our featured performer this Sunday is Ed Sparks. Many of you know Ed, who has featured for us before. He's been performing for more than 35 years, all around the region. Ed plays six- and 12-string acoustic and electric guitars, acoustic and electric bass, harmonica, and a "little banjo and mandolin." He sings, and also writes original tunes. Ed delivers a great show, mixing covers and his excellent original songs, and he's often playing an unusual or rare guitar, or one that he built himself (he's also a luthier). His son will be accompanying him on cello.

Ed is always a treat-- so don't miss this!
