Come down and join us (Linda,Parker,Eric, et al) Camping and The Beach From Thursday to Sunday (take off from work!..you can do it!) or just the Weekend!
September Thurs 9/16 Thru Sun 9/19
http://www.abcapemay....

Rent a campsite or a cabin. Carpool, Share a site and split the fees! Do it on the cheap! Fares are reduced after Labor day.

Ladies..... this is not wilderness camping(unless you want it to be) Clean Bathrooms and Showers.(bring quarters) Shopping and the beach is just minutes away!

I will be bringing the kitchen.. bring your food ….definitely bring your beverages..or get it at the supermarket 5 mins away. Just pitch in to cleanup.

Sat Night, if there enough interest, well have a clambake and community campfire ..bring your lawn chairs.

To add extra zest, Bring your Hawaiian Shirt or Sarong!
Parents..This is a very Family Friendly Campground..no cliffs to fall from
Spend time on the beach, walk the boardwalk, bring your bike, take hike, visit the zoo or the painted ladies.

GoogMap here http://maps.google.co...

See website http://www.abcapemay.... for campground details, policies and amenities.

Their policy includes no outside firewood..so you know they are going to charge too much for too litle firewood. We might want to think about consolidating our campfires to one site to save $$$

From the campground website...
… the miles of beach with swimming, fishing and surfing, is what has made Cape May and the surrounding area famous. .. Located just 15 minutes north of Cape May Point, we are the closest campground to the beautiful Stone Harbor and North Wildwood beaches. With wooded campsites, cable TV, a Laundromat, pull thru sites and a secluded primitive tenting area, we have the atmosphere and amenities to make your stay an enjoyable one. ....Adventure Bound Camping Resort at Cape May accommodates virtually any type of camping unit, including tents, travel trailers with slides and large motor homes. Don't have a tent.... Try our cozy rustic camping cabins with available air conditioning, refrigerators and charcoal cooking grills.
Take the Atlantic City Expressway East to Exit 7s. (Garden State Parkway). Go South on GSP to Exit 9, Mayville/Shell Bay Avenue. Go west 1 mile and look for the lighthouse, we are on the right!
Of course there are alternative routes.

Activity Update:

For those who cannot make the Friday evening dolphin watching cruise, we will have another opportunity on Saturday.

We will go out with the Whale Watchers at 5:30. Company information and directions can be found at: http://www.capemaywha...

If we can gather a group of at least 25 people, the cost will be $18/person. If we can't, the cost will be $28/person, but you can print out a $3 coupon here for a small savings: http://www.capemaywha....

We should plan to meet at the dock no later than 5:00 to purchase tickets.

If you are interested in attending this, please post to the message board or send a note to Pamela Hernandez so I can try to gauge how many people might be coming.

is anyone planning anything interesting off-site for Saturday or Sunday? I know there are whale-watching trips in the area, and fishing nearby and I think a number of other interesting things.

I am registering for the 2-hr. guided Kayaking through wings-n-water. Anybody else interested? I'm leaning toward the 10 am time. Price is $40 though, not $20 - at least from the site ticket info pdf. Also definitely going over to Cape May Point on Friday - I LOVE that place - it's great for anyone who's interested in birdwatching.

I would love to do a whale watch on Sat. Does anyone know if there have been sightings lately?

    Posted September 15, 2010 at 12:26 PM
  • Pamela
    Pamela

I think that sightings are very common, although I'm sure they can't guarantee. I was reading and it seems that they mostly go whale watching in the morning, and dolphin watching in the evening. I don't know why :) Here's a couple places I found if you can't make the Friday night that Robin was kind enough to organize:

I had the BEST TIME!! Cape May is the best!! Thank you Eric, for putting together a fabulous weekend, and for preparing great food. It had to have been much more work than you made it look. Met some wonderful people I hope to see at other events. Already looking forward to next year!
  • Allison
Awesome, terrific, and FUNFUNFUN! What a GREAT weekend! :) Thank you Eric for organizing and cooking and as always, being a great host! Mark P., it wouldn't have been the same without the karaoke! Met so many more nice, fun people and enjoyed re-connecting with those I knew. I give it TEN stars out of 5! :D
