Join us for a presentation on Windows 8 at our September 12 Dinner meeting.

On October 18th of last year Microsoft launched Windows 8.  As with any major change this one had a lot of good features and some which could use improvement.  So on this October 18th Microsoft will release Windows 8.1 as a free update.

So, what's in this release?

Windows 8.1 features a single search feature that will return results for a search from your computer, your applications, and the web.The standard Windows 8 apps are updated and retooled in 8.1, including the mail, photo, people, and calendar. You can turn your PC or tablet into a picture frame by making your Lock screen a slide show of  your pictures - either locally on the device or photos from Microsoft SkyDrive.Internet Explorer 11 will ship with Windows 8.1, offering even better touch performance, faster page load times and several other new features.Support for 3-D printing is provided.

And the Start button returns!

Our speaker, Mr. Yung Chou of Microsoft, will give us a preview of these and other features in the upcoming release.

Free coffee from Organo Gold will be provided to attendees. Do not miss out!

I hate that i will miss this. But if the presentation can be held again that would be nice. If not then i hope to attend the other event regardless of the subject.
