This is a FUN FUN EVENT.
We will do yoga at the beach and then join the full moon drum circle people to bang away on drums, dance around the fire, and see the spectacle!! There will be firedancers twirling flaming balls and spears, women who twirl neon hula hoops, and "all the ususal suspects", including leftovers from the 1960s, scantily clad surfers, bellydancerettes, and lots of yogis.
The Moon will be directly opposite the Earth from the Sun and will be fully illuminated as seen from Earth. This full moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Full Strawberry Moon because it signaled the time of year to gather ripening fruit. This moon has also been known as the Full Rose Moon and the Full Honey Moon.
Wear layers as once sun goes down it cools of quickly. Come early as parking is difficult...there will be a couple of hundred people for this event on a rather small beach. Please bring a couple of pieces of firewood to contribute to the bonfire. Bring a chair, your drum and/or whatever you like to bang on, and your happy dance. Full Moon drum circle is a monthly event at this location, but we only piggy back Yoga At The Beach when it happens on a warm weekend day, which for 2014 is only June 13, July 14 and August 10th. Of those date, only this one, June 13 is an night where we are likely to see the moonrise over the bluffs....at about 9:30 pm, more cause to whoop it up!
The beach patrol will ask all to leave at 10.
As always no charge.
