Was a bit "over my head", as I ' m about 10 years out-of-date on the topic. However it stimulated me to do some reading on the subject. Looks like I need a great deal more education before I can contribute meaningfully to the discussions. Thanks for the opportunity to participate.

Here's the spec for "HTTP Subscriptions" that's based on (or makes use of) webhooks: https://github.com/progrium/http-subscriptions

And here's a discussion about the spec: https://groups.google....
Thanks, really useful

A few of you asked for the proceedings from the Detroit conference. Here's a PDF: http://apicraft.org/content/detroit2013/Proceedings_Detroit2013.pdf

Thanks for coming. I really enjoyed it. Look forward to he next one.
Something came up at work an I'll not be able to make it. Apologies.
NP. We'll see you at the next one.
What's the agenda for tonight?
just getting ready to head out there. We'll be using the Open Space format (see http://en.wikipedia.o...), so the issues that are most important to people will get discussed. In short, you can propose your own topic. This will be a a highly participatory process which was successfully employed at the API Craft Detroit conference a couple of moths ago. Hope to see you there.
Thanks Emmanuel. I'm going to have to bow out. My ride had to cancel and looking at the train schedule, it's not going to work for me tonight.
See you next time!
Emmanuel, My apologies. My wife just notified me that it is back to school night for our kids. I am greatly interested in joining the next meeting.

Same here. Sorry. See you next time.
Sorry guys, Just found out that I have a 5:00pm meeting and there is no way I can get there in time this time. I'm eager to make the others.

No problem Carl. Look forward to seeing you at the next meetup, possibly as soon as next month in SF!

I'm interested in common API's for IOS and Android mobile application libraries where the API is in C. Mainly libraries containing semiautonomous display functions like Youtube viewers or Web Viewers and even photo gallery's with a common look and feel as well as API across both mobile platforms. Is that a good fit for this group?

Hi, most folks around here implement REST APIs, but an API is an API, so yeah, sure!
Yes i was getting that impression. My other alternative , and maybe a better one, is to place my communication library into a native app (one each for IOS and Android) that invoke a web app containing the display functions and allowing a data path between the two. That way the API is dumb simple on the native side and the web side is very elastic.

I'd post a topic on the API Craft Google group on this. You're guaranteed to get more responses there. https://groups.google.... :-)
I'm confused, is it in San Francisco or Palo Alto?
Hi , this next meetup is in Palo Alto.
I can't make it down to Palo Alto. Will the meeting have an API that I can consume?
That would have to be a streaming API ;-)
Look forward to one in San Francisco as well.
can't make it. I'll be in norway that week for JavaZone!

Have a great inaugural meetup. Hope to join one up in SF.
Ditto, looking forward to a SF meetup
It'd be great if we can hold alternate meetings in SF and the peninsula. Let's see how this first one goes and we'll make it happen!
