To our attendees (and those still on the fence),
We have an update on the Occupy Wallstreet action here in lower Manhattan.
I just took a walk outside to witness the very peaceful march of the Wall Street protesters up to the Federal Plaza. All looks good. The police have cordoned off the sidewalk and traffic police are keeping things moving.
I see no problem for this evening's event. Lisa Rangel, our resume wizard, will be here and we have ordered up snacks for everyone.
**I recommend taking the 'E' train from midtown down to the World Trade Center stop. Walk three blocks (east) to our building to avoid the demonstration.
The A/C and R/W and 2/3 and 4/5/6 trains may be involved with people coming down to the demonstration.
When you come up the stairs from the E, walk (downtown) toward St. Paul's church, the large, old, brown church at the foot of the new WTC (you are either there at one exit or one block north when exiting). St. Peter's Church, next to St. Paul's has a large steel cross on the E-exit side.
The church has a large, old, gated graveyard. Walk along the north side of the graveyard, away from WTC ( VESEY street, which changes into Ann across the intersection) and straight to our place at 156 William and Ann.
Around the time of our event, there will be a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge - NOT in our territory - at William and Ann, but the walkers may be taking the 4/5/6 or a/c or 2/3 to get there.
See you there!!
