An overview of AR capabilities today

  • October 31, 2013 · 8:00 PM

The team from LandScapAR will be presenting their project (see link below). You can download their app, try it out yourself, and come to the meetup to hear about how they made it.

I will be giving a talk on the general overview of AR capabilities, and a brief demo of AirMarkr.

If we're lucky, Mostafa from BitStars will be joining us to talk about their AR SDKs and the games they've created. Bitstars is a very cool startup based in Aachen. They are currently developing a SLAM (Simultaneous Location and Mapping) and Object Recognition software for mobile.

    Hi AR Berliners,
It was really great to see you all again, and also some new members! Thanks for coming and making the talks and discussions so interesting : )
Also big thanks to Tore and Zero for bringing along your cool gadgets and being so kind to let us all have a play! And again, vielen Dank to the LandsapAR team, for the thorough presentation.
As some of you were interested in AR where you don’t need a visual marker print out, here are some examples (there’s a character limit so I’ll keep it short).

Take your own photo – Aurasma :

Face detection – Zoff Mirror :

    SLAM – Minecraft Reality :

PointCloud and Metaio offer SLAM SDK, and Bitstars and Vuforia are currently developing one.

Hope you find these information useful.
    See you all next time!

Please not the time has changed to 8:00pm as we might have a speaker from Bitstars coming over to talk about their work if they're able to make it on time. http://bitstars.com/
