We maintain that the use of animals needs to stop; animals have a right to their own lives. We are vegan, but anyone is welcome to come to the group to find out more about us or to help with rescue efforts. Care about the current conditions as they impact animals? Please come aboard and learn what we are doing to create a better world for all animals, both human and non-human.
Animal Rights & Rescue of North Texas is devoted to protecting as many animals as possible through the following commitments:
Maintain a group of people who are trained in animal rescue to support any and all animals in the event of a natural or man-made disaster.
Maintain an attitude of respect for all forms of life, regardless of species.
Maintain respect for the rights of animals to live their own lives and not to be exploited. As such, we support the abolition of animal exploitation rather than the regulation of exploitation.
Maintain veganism as the baseline for protecting animals from exploitation. By providing creative vegan education, we hope to teach respect towards all animals, from farm pig to elephant to dog or cat. Our goal as vegans is to do the least harm possible (ahimsa).
Maintain an attitude of non-violence and peace in our relations with others, whether human or non-human animals.
Maintain anti-oppression stance, since we know that all oppression is interrelated.
Maintain a group that supports the lives of local animals through shelter support, rescue trainings, wildlife support, habitat support, community education, and outreach.
