Among the many challenges in life, tying knots is the first one I remember: learning to tie shoes.  I have not mastered it yet as my left shoe gets untied much more often.  My left foot is the mirror image of my right foot, but I tie them same way.

Lode will tell us about his knots for this meetup. Lode is an experienced automation engineer new to Vancouver. He enjoys finding beauty and connection among seemingly unrelated things, a perfect fit to our group.  Lode explains:

Some easy knots that cover all your daily life needs, a practical approach. easy as in :  easy to learn, easy to remember (when needed), easy to untie, and reliable! Not too much theory, but much tying! I am not a knot master, but I never felt like having the right knot at the right moment. So, I looked in depth to it, and selected about 5 knots that are very very very functional. Thanks to 10000 years of civilization (for inventing them) and google (for me finding them)! I you have one, bring a piece of rope with you, different diameters welcome! (as I travel light, I myself have only a dollarama rope, but I managed to safely fasten a boxspring on the rooftop of a car. You will be able to do that also after the meeting! )

Knots will be a hot topic of the future, like 3d-printing is today.
