Reason in the Rock Planning Meeting

We're contacting potential speakers, fundraising efforts are underway, and we're starting on the details that will make this the BEST Reason in the Rock EVER!


At this meeting, we'll work on a budget, discuss more fund raising ideas, and hear from those who have been doing the initial groundwork. We'll be planning who will do which tasks over the months to come.

Reason in the Rock is a BIG project, and we need all the help we can get.

    I was informed today that our group can have 5 tables total for the hallway area. One will be used as our registration table and the other 4 can be vendor tables. Another group is already planning on being in the rooms across the hall. They too may need at least a registration table in the hallway. Additionally, Silver City 3 & 4 may be rented come October and it's reasonably to assume that group may need a registration table too. I will try to swing by the Wyndham before Wednesday's meeting to see where these 5 tables of ours can be placed and if they are close to electrical outlets or not.

    I'm very sorry, but I'm pretty sure I can't make the meeting tonight. We're leaving for NY on Friday, and I have a ton of stuff on my plate that has to be completed before tomorrow afternoon. I probably won't be leaving work until around 7pm tonight. Please keep me posted.

    I've got a lab meeting from 4 til about 5, 5:10, 5:15, so not sure if I can make it by 5:30, but will be there ASAP. I'd excuse myself from the work meeting early, except it just happens to be my turn to lead the discussion. What luck! :)

    Hey guys, just to plant the seed before Weds night: we need to discuss vendor issues-how many the venue can accommodate, how many we should have, vendor's needs (space, electricity, etc.), what our vendor's fee should be, should we ask for a deposit so they will be more motivated to follow through after they confirm they WILL be coming, etc. Right now, nothing's confirmed or set up, but folks are interested (as they should be, by golly! :)).
