Cosmos Watch Party

  • May 11, 2014 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Each Sunday night you can enjoy episodes of Neil deGrasse Tyson's "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" with your fellow freethinkers. The show airs from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm, but feel free to come early to mingle and chat, and bring along your favorite potluck snacks and beverages to share.

Tonight's Episode: "The Lost Worlds of Planet Earth" - The past is another planet - many, actually - and we will bring several of them back to life and ride the Ship of the Imagination to a vision of the Earth a quarter of a billion years into the future. Join us on a journey through space and time to grasp how the autobiography of the Earth is written in its atoms, its oceans, its continents, and all living things.

About the show: "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" will invent new modes of scientific storytelling to reveal the grandeur of the universe and re-invent celebrated elements of the original series, including the Cosmic Calendar and the Ship of the Imagination. Uniting skepticism and wonder, and weaving rigorous science with visual, emotional, and spiritual elements, it will be a transcendent experience – a vision of the cosmos on the grandest scale we know.

I'm bringing ice cream bars, something like 18 of them. Don't worry, they're 100 calories each :-) um, yeah.
