Winter Solstice, Mayan Long Count, It's the End of the World as We Know It Party

With so many things to celebrate, how could we possibly NOT have a party?

First of all, an hour before this party, head to the State Capitol grounds and gather at the ASF Winter Solstice Display, where we will dance in a circle, hands joined, and sing Christmas carols. (No, we won't, but we WILL have fun there!)

Then, load yourselves into your cars and caravan westward and upward to Anne's house, where it will be warmer and brighter. Come on - all your cool freethinking friends will be there!

BYOB. Also, BYO snacks - we're not going to have a full potluck, but it's always nice to have something to munch on. But above all, BYO selves, friends, and companions and let's celebrate!

New to the group? You'll be welcomed with open arms. Been around awhile? We like you, and that's why we keep inviting you to these things.

Axial tilt, guys - It's the reason for the season!

Parking tips:

Parking can be a challenge in Hillcrest, especially here, where the old streets are narrow and stone walls line them. There is no parking on Oak St, and parking on Oakwood is very limited. If cars are parked on both sides of Oakwood, no one can get through.

If you do not find a spot on Oakwood (and you probably won't), we suggest parking on H street east of Oak, or on Pine, and walking a block to Anne's house. (It's the one with the orange turret.)

I met Axial once. He's kind of a jerk . . . well, he's a bit slanted in things anyway. No, come to think of it, he's not a jerk. He kinda slides into things without you really noticing it. But he can be rather cold this time of year. I must say, however, he IS well seasoned.
