Arkansas Darwin Day 2012

Dear friends and fellow Freethinkers,

This year our Society has taken a lead role in organizing a major science oriented event that will bring together multiple universities and community organizations to build awareness and promote open discussion of evolutionary science; uphold science education and research; and advance science and evidence-based decision-making in all areas of life. This work will lay the foundation for a continuing
tradition for an annual, science-focused, multidisciplinary event that will enrich life in Arkansas and reach out not only to scientific community, but also to the general public.

Why is this effort so important to our community? In an environment where evolution has to be disguised as “change over time” to be taught in schools, and where even within the scientific community the name of Darwin is considered to be too controversial to be affiliated with, we stand up for change. The best way to bring about change is through outreach and education.

We need your financial support in this endeavor. Every contribution makes a difference. Your donations will be used to bring in speakers, organize workshops, conduct student research competition, and support other educational activities.

I invite you to follow my example and donate on-line:

Thank you very much, your support is invaluable.

P.S. For your donation you will receive a coupon for free gelato at
ZAZA restaurant as a token of our appreciation. Every good deed must
be celebrated. We are very grateful to ZAZA for this gift.
