I've been different my whole life: verbose, intellectual, and socially awkward. Everything I've seen suggests this is a place where I can both help and be helped. I'd like to see more.

The AZ ASAN chapter is a part of the national Autism Self-Advocacy Network [www.autisticadvocacy.org] which seeks to advance the principles of the disability rights movment in the Autistic community. ASAN fosters the idea of neurological diversity, a world in which autism is allowed to exist with the same access, rights and opportunities as all other citizens. Our chapter works with the national organization to empower Autistic people to take control of our own lives and the future of our common community through the use of public policy, media representation, research and systems change. Our motto is "Nothing About Us, Without Us!"
