is there a cost to volunteer? that seems so wrong given the amount of $$$ given in award money. time for people to speak out against the practice

Bob - I have no idea. However their FAQs on the web state "HOW MANY SHIFTS DO I HAVE TO WORK?
Each volunteer is asked to work a total of three (3) full days during tournament week (24 hours). This can be four (4) six-hour shifts, three (3) eight-hour shifts, etc. You will work with the volunteer leaders in your committee to figure out your schedule once you have been placed. The amount of flexibility that your captain/chairman can give you will depend on your committee placement and the number of volunteers available for any specific shift."

For any other questions, please check out their information.
