Introduction

My name is Kristin and I am a ASL newbie. I have been diagnosed with Ménière's disease or a Auto-Immune disorder that functions like it and am rapidly losing hearing. I have always been interested in learning ASL. This has just given me a push!!

How long have you been signing?

I have been trying to learn on my own since my initial hearing loss diagnosis in 2004. But, I have started taking classes in 2012.

What made you interested in sign language?

Initially it was because I felt that no one should feel excluded from a conversation because they couldn't hear. Recently it is because I have become the person excluded because I cannot hear well.
