The Astronomical Society of Southern New England hosts a monthly meeting on the second Saturday each month at the Carpenter Museum in Rehoboth, MA. Members of the public are invited to attend. These meetings generally feature one or two speakers on astronomy and astrophotography topics, as well as reports from members on observing projects, new scopes, etc. After the meeting, we set up telescopes and observe in the adjacent field, if weather conditions permit.
For the March meeting, ASSNE member Pete Peterson will give a talk on his home observatory (where he also teaches beginners): "A Night at Wishing Star Observatory."
As parking/seating is limited, please RSVP only if you definitely will attend. This is a good opportunity to bring a scope you would like to learn how to use, to ask questions about astronomy or telescopes, and if the weather is good, do some observing through different telescopes and binoculars.
