Relevance & Allure: Re-inventing a Massive Statewide Training Conference

Join us for a presentation by Ann Lindsey, organizer behind the  2014 Governor’s Safety and Health Conference held at the  Dena’ina in March. As an expert in the field of Health and Safety,  she knows the power of engagement, and uses it in management  of volunteers and staff to revive and re-invent an event in its 33rd iteration. Ann’s wealth of experience as a trainer in the workplace enriches her presentation: she relates stories of situations and personnel at various stages of event conceptualization, planning, preparation, implementation, and celebration and evaluation.

By attending, you will gain strategies for streamlining your planning for training events. You will also take away ideas for meeting training objectives via methods such as informal learning from vendors and colleagues, the value of well-placed recognition and rewards for participation, and concepts for selecting content specialists as presenters. Relevance and allure in real life!

For more details about ASTD & this month’s program (including maps), visit Networking prior to the speaker's time & share business cards. Non-members, you are requested to contribute ten dollars for this presentation. Or join today & receive the discount!

Note: BYOL (bring your own lunch). The Chariot Group is located near a number of restaurants where you can pick up lunch or snacks to enjoy during the presentation.

Ann Lindsey did an excellent job of relating her experience in managing the training event for the 2014 Governor's Safety and Health Conference. Her story of expanding the training session and the coordination of speakers, vendors, and guest was inspiring.
