Surf City / Tinkerbell All Chapter Beach Run

Hi Runners;

First of all I want to wish everyone in the Snail Community a very heart felt MERRY CHRISTMAS!

As you all know the holiday falls on Wednesday, I have to go to work on Tuesday morning so I won't be able to lead a group run Tuesday morning but I encourage you to get together with your fellow runners and get your training run in for Tuesday at your convenience. 

I hope you all enjoyed the field trip to Frank G. Bonelli Park Saturday, it's really the closest we can get to a rural running area. Our group had a very good turn out, it was a challenging run but the Gonzo Runners can handle any running challenge right? Because that's how the Gonzo Runners are.  :-)

Next Saturday we have our ever popular All Chapter Beach Run. I hope the turn out is even larger then the Bonelli Park Run, as half marathon runners it is important for us to get in these long runs, they're the ones that condition us to adapt to the stress of the long distance. Those of you that are running the Tinkerbell Half your goal race is not to far away so make it a point to be at this training run, this will be your last long run of the session.

During this run make it a point to experiment with your hydration and gel consumption strategies for your goal race. You shouldn't try new things during your goal race it could be a recipe for disaster.

This weeks schedule looks like this;

     Sunday the 22nd. of Dec. - Recovery

     Monday the 23rd. of Dec. - 40 Minutes of Foundation Training

     Tuesday the 24th. of Dec. - If you can run 4 Miles + 25 Minutes of Foundation Training

     Wednesday the 25th. of Dec. - Merry Christmas

     Thursday the 26th. of Dec. - 4 Miles + 25 Minutes of Foundation Training

     Friday the 27th. of Dec. - Off

     Saturday the 28th. of Dec. - All Chapter Beach City Run (Surf City-10 Miles) - (Tinkerbell - 12 Miles)

     Sunday the 29th. of Dec. - Recovery

    Sat 28 Dec. Huntington Beach beautiful day perfect morning running conditions thank you Coach Jose for great team leadership
    Joy thank you for your support during this run and thank you to the volunteers who set up the snails tent to refuel us with Gatorade
    Refills goo peant butter pretzels etc etc
    That gesture and effort was very much appreciated by all of us since our water and hydration was almost gone at the 5 mile mark
    You guys thought of everything thank you for taking great care of us:)
