Re: [modeling-193] Alien Bees - Studio Lights

I use the ABR800 with the 30 inch moon unit.  I do not own any of the 800,1600 or the 400 strobes yet, but they are on my list.  I love the abr8000.  It is well made and even though it is plastic it does not feel cheap.  It is easy to hand hold and shoot and any idiot can figure out how to use it.  I had a few Impact 8ft air cushion stands so I did not need to get one from them.  I think next on my list is an 800 with a large softbox.  Very good product,  you can not go wrong.

Hi all,
I am in the market and I am considering purchasing a set of Alien Bees 800 strobe lights. Does anyone of our members use AB's? I would like to hear any Pros and Cons. I read some things online, I just wanted to hear some facts from our members. I will use the lights for a home studio and on locations and maybe for special events. When I need additional space I will rent out a studio.
Also, I am wondering should I purchase the light stands that comes with the kit or purchase another type of stands Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your time,
