ATLsalt Photography is all about the true freedom of learning concepts and visualization, leading to refining one's artistic craft in the field of photography and giving back to our local communities. We suggest that there are no shortcuts and quick formulas for success in the art of photography. We firmly believe that the teaching and practicing of photography in this meetup group offers a learning experience that no other meetup provides.

ATLsalt is like no other photography meetup. We are not “typical.” ATLsalt welcomes all aspiring photographers, students, and those who want to learn and be guided by creative photographers.

The primary purposes of ATLsalt Photography is to improve our skills, enhance our abilities, and offer our talents of instructing to High School teenagers within our community. It is an unselfish means of giving back to what we normally take for granted.

Our unique instructional methods are composed of “Training Aspiring Photographers” (TAP). This includes both classroom presentation and a followup meetup the next week to reinforce the learning experience. No other meetup does this.

Most photographers use Digital Single Lens Reflex (DLSR) with interchangeable lenses. If you desire to shoot with point-n-shoot cameras or film cameras, we still welcome your digitally transferred images. The whole idea when we interact is to trade ideas, stories, and inspire others to become better photographers.

We have several items on our wish list of things to do such as offering weekend and week long workshops, one of which will be in Tuscany Italy, field trips to a variety of museums, on-hand studio experiences, and visit businesses involved with photography and graphics. Also we have plans to market our images in galleries and publications. We hope all of this activity will be exciting and inspirational. Please join and TAP right in!
