Melbourne AWS User Group Monthly Meetup

Our regular monthly meetup (on the last Wednesday of every month).
Arrive at 6:00pm for a 6:15pm start.

This month we have another two great presentations:
Michael Ford from Shine Technologies will be presenting on AWS RDS IOPS, here is his summary:
I have been working at Shine Technologies for 5 and 1/2 years on a number Enterprise Java applications. We are currently adding AWS support to our applications. The aim is to deliver a better business experience by using AWS to provide the complete stack required to run our applications.
The presentation will be covering Shine's experience with the new AWS RDS feature IOPS on Oracle database. It will focus getting our legacy application NBV to utilise IOPS to reduce processing times. Our testing was completed while IOPS was in beta and under strict time restrictions.
Darragh Kennedy from Lonely Planet will be presenting on "Publishing in the Cloud", here is his summary:
So far the topics will be more business oriented - Intro on Lonely Planet, Bus case for the cloud, state of publishing, infrastructure as code. Then a bit on how we are progressing.It should give the context to what we are trying to do then I could do updates at other meetups as to our progress and get more into the technical side.
