TomTom will present how they build Navcloud using AWS and challenges they faced.

  • Apr 29, 2014 · 6:30 PM

Hello everybody,

It is time for another AWS meetup. This time TomTom will give us some insight on their work with AWS.

In this meetup Dimitri and Vincenzo will present about the problems they faced while building NavCloud using AWS. They will show concrete examples (see below) and talk about the limitations of ELB's and when it could be the right time to step away from the AWS ELB's and use your own load balancing.

1) Case Study: Implementing a streaming-enabled service using Elastic Load Balancer with TCP/TSL and HTTP(S) protocols. Setting up monitoring.Application deployment and Cloudformation.

2) Case Study: Using Capistrano, Python boto and other tools to ease and automate deployment process

The program:

• 18:30 - Pizza & drinks (sponsored by TomTom)

• 19:00 - Presentations

• 21:00 - meetup & drinks

We hope to see you there!

If you have any questions regarding this change feel free to add me on twitter (@woutneyn) or send me an e-mail  ([masked]).

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me promoting this weekend's iBeacon Hackathon. GlimwormBeacons and Sanoma and Appsterdam are running the Hackathon at VondelCS and the Amsterdam Economic Board have donated a GOOGLE GLASS as a prize. We are looking not only for programmers but all sorts of skills to make an iBeacon prototype this weekend. If you can come the link is here Regards

Nice presentation, really informative, can be considered as a good intro into AWS. And the case for architecture the private cloud. Well done!
May I ask what is the pizza's company name? (vegetarian one was good I've tried so far) :)
