May Meet Up

We’re holding our May 2013 meet up at Virginia’s Center for Innovate Technology ( in Herndon, VA. CIT has visitors parking in the garage.
We’ve got two speakers and we’ll have some AWS technical representatives attending as well. The schedule of events is:
6:00 – 6:30 Networking and refreshments (pizza and soda)
6:30 – 7:00– Is the cloud secure? - Approaches to Securing Cloud Services. Mr. Carlo Espiritu, CSA DC Board Member and CSA Guide contributing author, will discuss approaches to securely integrating public cloud services into a cloud consumer's organization. He will discuss compliance, security architecture, engineering, and operations challenges and potential solutions based on his experience architecting, deploying, and operating cloud solutions. Mr. Espiritu possesses 16 years of experience in technical information security in the public and private sector and is active in the cloud security community through CSA and AFCEA DC.
7:00 – 7:30– AWS, speaker TBD
7:30 – 8:00 – Door prizes & more networking

    Excellent meetup yesterday. Carlos laid out the different aspects of security to watch for while securing cloud assets. BTW, here is a white paper from AWS which may be useful to the group, some of you may already seen it, so forgive me .
