We have 4 slots open for AWS 1 meeting next Thursday.
Noel coined the term- "Bring That Bottle"(BTB). Its that special bottle that you always wanted to taste or share. Now's your chance since the December meeting is that plus a blind tasting. However, ~16 attendees bringing wine, is too much wine, so 8-10 wines is plenty.
Please email me if you want to contribute(ie donate) a BTB. Tell me if its white, red or dessert and the price. No need to disclose the exact wine. I only want to select & order the wines for variety and know how many wines to expect.
For those that are not selected or decide not to BTB, please bring appetizers OR a greeting wine. I'll coordinate so we have plenty of appetizers and greeting wines.
Lets make this a blind taste that everyone has a chance by limiting the choices. No oddballs, only vinifera, only commercial wines. Since these are special wines, they are probably more expensive than average. In other words, please no low cost wines.
I'm limiting the choices to 6 whites ... Chard, Sauv Blanc, Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Gris/Grigio, or Viognier from these regions ... France, Italy, US, Australia, Germany, New Zealand or Argentina.
Also limiting the reds to ... Cabernet, Merlot, Cab/Merlot blend, Pinot Noir, Syrah/Shiraz, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Zin or Malbec from these regions ... France, Italy, US, Australia, Spain, New Zealand or Argentina.
Even though Chateauneuf-du-Pape is a great wine and has some Syrah, its mostly Grenache so lets not.
Please let me know you want to bring a wine, its price and if its white, red or dessert. If you're selected, bring your bottle in a brown bag without any markings. When you arrive, I'll mark the bag.
