This isn't your run-of-the-mill Burgundy tasting. We'll be exploring the celebrated wines of Burgundy's heartland - the Côte d'Or. This is arguably where the world's finest, and most expensive Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines are produced.
Joe will be providing the wine education and a sampling of extraordinary Côte d'Or red and white wines that will without a doubt further your wine appreciation. You'll learn about the geology, terroir, and rich history of winemaking that makes this region unique.
Also in this meeting, for those that participated in the National Tasting Project: the results will be announced and the winner from our group that scored the closest to the national average will be revealed.
Cost per person, depending on attendance, will be at least $25 per person. Please bring a few extra $1 bills just in case we have less than 18 attendees. Also, please bring an appetizer to share. Suggested pairings include mushrooms, shrimp, escargot, chicken livers, niçoise olives, savory cheeses (epoisses, chaource, comté), wine or cassis poached pears, and french baguettes.
